North Carolina Mountain Inn

- The Greystone Inn opened in 1985 offering guests 16 guest rooms and an atmosphere designed to take them back in time and make them feel like preferred house guests on a North Carolina luxury mountain getaway. Today, the atmosphere is the same at this North Carolina Inn - guest rooms total 33.

The Presidential Suite was named Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report guest room of the year. The 900 square foot former library of the Moltz Mansion features an upstairs alcove with queen-sized bunk beds, balcony with spectacular lake view and a massive stone fireplace.

The interior décor of this North Carolina Mountain Inn reflects what is known about how Lucy Moltz furnished her home, down to wicker chairs on the sun porch and wooden rocking chairs on the northern terrace. Such attention to luxury brought The Greystone Inn a Four-Diamond rating from AAA – the first North Carolina Inn to be so recognized. Every year since, AAA has rated this luxury mountain getaway with that lofty symbol of luxury service.

NC Mountain Getaway - The Greystone Mansion

Today, the Greystone Mansion offers 16 guest rooms. Nearly two decades of careful attention to selecting just the right antiques, reproductions, and appointments has produced a collection of distinct rooms in varying sizes, including the award-winning Presidential Suite. Private bathrooms for each room feature Jacuzzi tubs. Some of the rooms of this luxury NC mountain getaway feature porches, fireplaces, and/or stunning lake or mountain views.

Luxury North Carolina Mountain Getaway - The Hillmont

A new addition to The Greystone Inn – a 12-room structure that reflects the architecture of the Greystone Mansion opened on June 2, 1988. Designated the Hillmont, this three-story facility houses luxury rooms featuring private porches overlooking the lake and North Carolina mountains, gas fireplaces, and spacious bathrooms with oversized Jacuzzis.

The four rooms on the upper floor of Hillmont, with their cathedral ceilings and larger rooms, are among the most prized at the inn.

Lakeside Suite

Family Mountain Getaway - Luxury Lakeside Suites at the Inn

Two spacious lakeside suites are perfect for a family NC mountain getaway or multiple traveling companions. The king-sized bed is isolated in a separate alcove off the main living area which includes a queen-sized sleeper sofa. Private screened porches, with a connecting door, provide the perfect setting for afternoon drinks. Just to tempt you, the Sothys Signature Spa is located on the lakeside level just beneath the lakeside suites.
