Tennis is one of the perennial favorites of all the activies of Greystone Inn guests. Just a few steps away from your room you will find the Lake Toxaway Country Club Tennis Facility, with five Har-Tru fast-dry courts and one hard surface court for guest use. Croquet

Croquet. The very word conjures up images of elegant ladies and dapper gentlemen spending summer afternoons on well-manicured lawns of fine estates. Who could imagine that such a sport from days gone by could be such a hit in the 21st century? Well, croquet has come into its own at the Lake Toxaway Country Club. Ladies and gentlemen again take to the lawns dressed in their croquet whites to challenge other devotees and to sharpen their skills at this revived outdoor activity. The Lake Toxaway Country Club Mallet Club has risen in the ranks to join the noted Palm Beach, Palm Springs and New York Croquet Clubs in exhibition. Fitness Center

The health and fitness center, just a short drive from The Greystone, overlooks the 20-acre Tom Fazio-designed driving range and learning center. The complex provides the very latest in facilities for the exclusive, complimentary use of Greystone Inn guests and Lake Toxaway Country Club members. Our up-to-date center includes Nautilus and free weight equipment, treadmills, elliptical trainers and stationary bikes, men's and ladies' locker rooms and showers. Additionally there are stability balls, exercise tubing, bands, and body bars for use. Training sessions are available through our professional fitness trainers for an additional fee and by appointment.

Swimming Pool

Who can resist a splash in the pool on a hot Summer day? No one we know! The Lake Toxaway Club Swimming Pool is the perfect spot for family fun and entertainment. Please note that the pool is heated so that it is comfortable all Summer long. The swimming pool is open each year from Memorial Day through Labor Day from the hours of 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Miss Lucy

Each and every day, weather permitting, enjoy a complimentary champagne cruise on our 26-passenger mahogany electric boat. Join other guests on a serene cruise around the lake learning the history of the area. The captain will make sure you enjoy a unique amenity that will keep you coming back to The Greystone. We hope your stays be memorable and often. There is no charge for our cruise, the champagne, or the great company you are sure to share on the Miss Lucy.

Lake Activities

No visit to The Greystone Inn is complete without spending time on the water.  In addition to our daily champagne cruise, you have many opportunities to explore our 14 miles of shoreline on your own.  Use of our canoes & kayaks is complimentary and can be a great way to enjoy a little exercise.  We also have a pontoon/fishing boat* that can be used for relaxing leisure cruises or to try to catch the big one.  For fishing enthusiasts, the combination of healthy bass, trout, and walleye populations, along with the serenity of a private lake, make for a special experience.  The adjacent marina also offers a ski-boat*, so if you’re looking for excitement in the form of water-skiing, knee-boarding, or tubing, you’re in luck!

Hiking Activities

Strike out on one of our numerous scenic North Carolina mountain hiking trails located on the Lake Toxaway Estate property to view some of the beautiful North Carolina waterfalls that Transylvania County is known for. Hiking the trails to the Toxaway River and the trail to Schoolhouse Falls bring you in touch with an explanation of why this area of North Carolina is known as The Land of Waterfalls.
