Conde Nast Traveler (November 2006) Best of the Best
(Lake Toxaway, NC). - From New York to Beverly Hills - from Jackson Hole, MT to Lake Toxaway, NC, discerning travelers have revealed where the "best of the best" hotels in the U.S and the world are located. Conde Nast Traveler magazine's "Readers Choice Awards" - the best of the best for 2006 - noted that among the most opulent, including numerous Ritz-Carlton's, is an intimate, small and very elegant property in the mountains of Western North Carolina - The Greystone Inn - on Lake Toxaway.
"To have been rated the best among all hotel experiences in the continental US and among all hotels in the world is very humbling to all of us," said The Greystone Inn General Manager Clark Lovelace shortly after learning that his intimate resort country inn had more than made the grade. Alongside The Peninsula's Chicago and Beverly Hills locations, one of the largest independent polls of consumer preferences among discerning travelers rated The Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway in North Carolina its 15th highest rated property in the US.
No other North Carolina property made the top-forty out of the top-100 listed.
