Conde Nast Traveler magazine's "Readers Choice Awards" - the best of the best for 2006 - noted that among the most opulent, including numerous Ritz-Carlton's, is an intimate, small and very elegant property in the mountains of Western North Carolina - The Greystone Inn - on Lake Toxaway.

Alongside The Peninsula's Chicago and Beverly Hills locations, one of the largest independent polls of consumer preferences among discerning travelers rated The Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway in North Carolina its 15th highest rated property in the US.

No other North Carolina property made the top-forty out of the top-100 listed.

This is the second consecutive year The Greystone Inn has been honored with this distinction. The list includes 5 North Carolina resorts. The Greystone Inn was the highest rated of those in Western North Carolina.

The readers of this leading travel publication, again, think highly of The Greystone Inn. 700 of the world's best resorts were listed and there were 178 Gold List and 62 reserve properties on the list.
